How does the Solar PV system work?

Solar energy is radiation from the Sun, which is able to produce heat, cause chemical reactions and turning it into electricity for your home, businesses, and factories.

Solar energy is radiation from the Sun, which is able to produce heat, cause chemical reactions and turning it into electricity for your home, businesses, and factories.

This potential for solar energy is enormous because it received the daily electric-generating capacity every day, in its solar energy form.


How does it work?

The key component which converts sunlight into electrical energy is the solar photovoltaic (PV) panel or PV modules.


Modules can be used individually, or several can be connected in parallel to form arrays. One or more arrays are then connected to the electrical TNB grid as part of a complete PV system.


PV then works together with other key components such as the inverter to that take the direct-current (DC) electricity produced by modules and convert it to the alternating-current (AC) electricity used to power all of the appliances in your home.


Depending on whether your solar system has been approved by TNB as a self-consumption solar system or not, unused electricity that is generated from the solar PV system can be sold back to the TNB grid.
