Progressture Solar Supports Young Malaysian Talent Through RIYI 2026

Progressture Solar is proud to be a supporting partner of the REHDA Institute Youth Initiative (RIYI) 2026, with our Co-Founder and CEO, Cliff Siaw, contributing as a mentor.
Our involvement brings together two priorities: sharing experience from working life and supporting opportunities for young Malaysians to learn directly from industry. Through the programme, Cliff joined fellow mentors in conversations with students and recent graduates about careers, business and workplace expectations.
Connecting university learning with working life
Organised by REHDA Institute, RIYI is a year-long programme for final-year university students and recent graduates. It connects participants with industry leaders through corporate mentorship, career guidance and practical exposure, with the aim of strengthening readiness for employment.
For someone preparing to enter the workforce, access to these conversations can be valuable. Participants have opportunities to explore what employers expect, how teams work and how individual contributions support a business. Hearing different practitioners’ perspectives can help them consider how their academic knowledge applies in the workplace.
Sharing practical lessons from experience
Cliff’s contribution included practical perspectives on workplace performance and career development. He highlighted the importance of sound judgement, clear communication and professional relationships in helping young people progress in their careers.
These are skills that develop through working with others and taking responsibility for decisions. Understanding how an organisation works can help young professionals contribute more effectively as they build experience.
A conversation with an industry practitioner can give someone useful context for asking questions, responding to feedback or approaching an unfamiliar responsibility.

Understanding how businesses create lasting value
Entrepreneurship was another part of the discussion. Cliff described a strong business model as “repeatable, scalable and sustainable”, highlighting the importance of consistent delivery and the capacity to grow responsibly.
For aspiring entrepreneurs, this offers a practical way to examine an idea. Can the business continue serving customers reliably as demand increases? Can it grow while maintaining quality and a manageable workload?
Thinking through these questions encourages young people to look carefully at how a business operates and what it needs to succeed over time. That perspective can also be useful to someone joining an established company and learning how their role contributes to its performance.

Developing people for a sustainable future
At Progressture Solar, our interest in youth development is closely connected to how we view our work in renewable energy.
Delivering a solar project requires people with different skills to work together. Technical decisions sit alongside project planning, commercial considerations and customer needs. Good communication and responsible decision-making help those disciplines come together in practice.
Preparing young people for working life includes helping them develop the judgement and confidence to work effectively with people from other backgrounds.
Supporting RIYI is one way we can contribute to that learning. By sharing experience alongside fellow industry partners, we hope to help young Malaysians approach their next steps with a clearer understanding of working life.

Thank you to the RIYI community
We extend our appreciation to REHDA Institute, the participating universities, fellow supporting partners and mentors for making this programme possible.
To the RIYI participants, thank you for being part of these conversations. Keep asking questions, take responsibility for your learning and remain open to the opportunities ahead.
Progressture Solar is proud to have contributed to RIYI 2026, and we look forward to seeing where the participants’ journeys take them.
